Autism
Ok So I'm far from an expert on Autism. In fact all I can say; is my son was diagnosed at the age of 5 which at that time was known as Asperger's. Not long after the diagnosis I became a single parent and to say it was a tough job is an understatement. Autism is not something that you grow out of, it is not something that you get over, it is something that my son deals with every day. Some days are harder than others, and some days are unbelievably wonderful.
2015
I began my journey into Bowen for many reasons, I needed to support myself and my son financially, I knew I Loved to help people so this would be a naturally progression. I was also well aware of how well Bowen could work as my sister works on animals and had seen the improvement for myself. As soon as I started the course my first instinct was to try all these wonderful things I had learnt on my son, as most people who have had Bowen know it can be very relaxing. (Hoping to give my son the same feeling) I choose to not listen to my son when he was telling me no in all the unusual ways he does (fidgeting, complaining, whining etc) "It's great! Hop on you will love it!!" As you can imagine he didn't 'love' it and refused to have it again for quite a while.
2015-2017
I guess this is when thinking and talking came in big time. Explaining what I was learning and how Bowen worked was very interesting to my son and I was able to get him to consider another try. This time with a lot of differences, smaller wait times, talk about the moves and why we chose the specific moves. Also, if it was a sore spot, he learnt how to use his breathing to calm his reaction. If me doing the move was too much pressure, I would ask him to place his hand on the area then perform the movement with his hand under, mine all the time he was in control. He can call a stop to the treatment at any time.

My son has experienced extreme growing pains, leg pain, feet pain etc. due to his low muscle tone which is a result of A.S.D. He has been working with a gym and a P.T. twice a week for at least 4 years, the gym has increased his stamina however if he was to walk for an extended period of time he is in crippling pain. Bowen helps with this pain.
2017-2022
So can I say my son was cured using Bowen absolutely not! Anyone who says they can cure Autism has no idea what they are dealing with. What I can say, and do is that Bowen did help with the Growing pains that seemed to plague him constantly. He told me that he felt more at ease when he had regular treatments. His regular treatment would be once every 2 months. He has successfully completed Year 12 this year at a mainstream school. Attended his School Formal, Break up day and Graduation day And I couldn't be Prouder.
